ABOUT US
Learn about our mission and what we do
We are a non-profit organization that aims to fight against all forms of piracy, which generate losses not only to the detriment of the industry but also to governments.
At present, Alianza is comprised of the main members of the content industry operating in the Latin American region, including pay-TV operators such as DirecTV Latin America, SimpleTV (Venezuela), and SKY Brasil; pay-TV signal programmers and content producers such as Warner Bros. Discovery, The Walt Disney Company, LaLiga, Grupo Globo, Win Sports, Telecine, 1190 (Peru), and Ole Distribution (representing channels from A&E Networks, NBCUniversal, Sony, and IVC); professional leagues such as the Professional Football League - LFP Argentina -; technology providers and industry associations such as Nagra Kudelski, ABTA - Brazilian Association of Pay TV, and CAPPSA - Chamber of Producers and Programmers of Audiovisual Signals, with agreements with non-governmental entities for joint pursuit of piracy.
How do we do our work?
Through:
Technical
actions
Strategic signal breaks - unauthorized retransmission of channels - through illegal FTA and IPTV equipment.
We continuously scan existing advertising on pirate sites to identify advertisers and work with them to remove their ads from illegal sites.
Laws and
Regulations
We support and promote regulatory initiatives, participate in forums and discussions with the government and authorities to accelerate the fight against audiovisual piracy
Investigations
and legal action
Unlawful service blocking actions, raids, closure of establishments, fines, civil and criminal convictions.
Training
We provide information on the problem and train government entities and industry on audiovisual piracy in its different modalities, we provide training on how to identify and minimize it.
Public
Relations
We raise public awareness of the problems caused by piracy by creating and broadcasting audiovisual spots and participating in forums and events to put the need to fight against audiovisual piracy on the public agenda.
We are
watching
The Alliance has a laboratory to acquire, analyze and catalog FTA and IPTV equipment and their respective pirate services. As a result of this analysis, catalogs are generated and shared with customs in all the countries where Alianza operates, in order to block imports of illegal devices.
